Alabama couple say "I Do" at Boston church wedding

Congrats to Warren & Steve from Alabama! These fine, southern gentlemen had a full church ceremony with Rev. Werntz at Emmanuel Church on Newbury Street. A bagpiper greeted guests as they arrived at the church - and provided entertainment for the tourists and shoppers on this sunny Saturday afternoon! the celebrations continued at Bistro du Midi where guests enjoyed a lavish dinner in one of their private rooms. We wish the grooms many years filled with love and laughter.…See More

Church weddings in Boston MA

Yes, it's possible for LGBT couples to get married in a church in MA! I recently had to look at some options for a couple from AL who will be coming up to Boston for a fall wedding. Emmanuel Church on Newbury Street, Arlington Street Church, and First Parish Church in Lexington all welcome gay couples to say 'I Do' in their chapels. And I'm sure there are others.

Intimate Wedding on the Connecticut Shoreline

Two brides from Tennessee tied the knot earlier this year at the lovely Madison Beach Hotel on the Connecticut shoreline. It was a wonderful, intimate celebration with just 6 guests in attendance - including their adorable six-month old son, Samuel. The couple braved the beach for a photo op - it was April 1 in CT - and, I am sure you will agree, it was worth it! (Photos courtesy of Jennifer Higham Photography, CT.)…See More

A Wedding Without the Wait in MA

In early December I spent a lovely morning in Cambridge MA with Sandy and Gloria from FL. The couple had already had a wedding in the Sunshine State and now wanted to make it legal - in one day. We left their hotel early in the morning and headed to Cambridge City Hall to apply for the license. With confirmation of filing in hand, our next stop was Middlesex County Court to apply for a waiver for the 3-day waiting period that applies to marriage licenses in MA. After a short wait the judge…See More

Small Requests Just as Important

I was recently contacted by a bride-to-be from SC who was planning to wed her partner during their vacation in Provincetown this summer. They have never been to P'town so had no idea where to start when looking for accommodation or a JP. That is all she needed, no frills, but I was happy to help. I also suggested she think about going in September rather than July as initially planned, especially because she was on a budget. So within a few hours and few emails I had found her beach-front…See More

Romance at Sunset in Duxbury, MA

Julie from WA asked me to help her plan a romantic but simple commitment ceremony at a waterfront location. She was already engaged to her partner, Tammy, who had proposed to Julie earlier in the year. Julie wanted to surprise Tammy with an intimate ceremony during their vacation in Boston – so that’s just what we did!On the day of…See More

A Romantic Proposal in Central Park - Just Don't Forget the Carrot....

Everyone loves to take a horse drawn carriage ride through Central Park. The cabs have been a symbol of romance in NYC for decades; even Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City took a romatic ride with one of her on-screen beaus. So what could be a more perfect setting for a proposal to your loved one? Especially those of you in a same-sex relationship and have been waiting for years to be legally wed in your home state. The park is very quiet at night and a moonlit ride is the perfect setting to…See More

Thank you so much for all of your thoughtful posts - it's just what we wanted. We launched the forum awhile back but it was really "hidden" until January this year when we opened it up to anyone who wanted to join. It has been difficult for me to get everyone to interact - thanks very much. Once we recover/ get caught up in NY it's definitely on my to-do list to put hours into the forum to improve it for everyone. Then I have to conquer FB. We finally figured out twitter. Thanks again!
