Though same sex marriage is not legal here in Oklahoma, my girlfriend and I are going to find a way around that!  However, I'd love to fight Oklahoma's law and let same sex marriage be legal here.

Because of this rubbish, we have decided to get married in Iowa even though the certificate of marriage is not going to be legal in any other state.  Atleast we know we are together and legally married.  We will get married in a court house there and come back here to Oklahoma and have a ceremony with friends and family.

It's becoming hard to find a minister to participate in our ceremony.  Does anyone have any ideas on what we can do about this?  Does it have to be someone who can "legally" do a marriage since we will already be married or can anyone do it?

We are going through the same thing. We live in Texas, and we plan on going to Iowa to get married. No you dont have to have a minister for your ceremony becuase you would already be married. Try a really close friendor family member to do it for you. You'll can do your own vows, and just have them read the verses from the bible, if you like. Hey why dont we all go up to Iowa togeather. Let me know
